1.advise和persuade都有‘给……出主意，劝说’的意思。

advise 是动词，劝说（成功与否不确定，不强调）

persuade是动词 含义= 劝说+成功。

persuade sb. to do sth.意为“说服某人做了某事”,强调结果；而advise sb. to do sth.和try to persuade sb. to do sth.意为“劝某人做某事”,强调动作。不涉及劝说的结果有没有成功。

I advised(tried to persuade) him to stop smoking, but he would not listen to me.

我劝说他戒烟，可是他不听我的。

persuade没有虚拟语气用法：

persuaded sb to do sth=persuaded sb into doing和persuaded that从句，都表示“说服+成功”的含义；

try to persuade sb. to do sth和advise sb. to do sth..意为“劝某人做某事”,强调动作，不涉及结果是否成功劝说。

We persuaded her to confess her crime.

我们说服她坦白了她的罪行。

I failed in my attempt to persuade her.

2.suggest 及物动词 ， 建议它所表示的含义是“建议或者提议”。

suggest+疑问词+to do

suggest that+sb. (should) do(含其他名词性从句都用虚拟语气)

suggest doing sth./ sth.

例句：

Did he suggest anything to the boss?

他给老板提建议了吗？

May I suggest a white wine with this dish, Sir?

先生，吃这道菜，我给您推荐一种白葡萄酒，好吗？

用名词作宾语，构成 suggest sth. for sb. to do, 表示建议某事让某人去做。

He suggested a plan for us to draw up 他提出一个计划让我们去制定。

由此强调说明“ suggest sb to do sth 后面的作宾补”是错误的说法。

小结：suggest是及物动词，常作“提议、建议”讲。后接名词、动名词、含疑问词的不定式短语或从句，从句要用虚拟语气，但不能接不定式和复合宾语。suggest 还有“ 暗示、表明、说、指出（一个事实）” 的意思。此时从句中用陈述语气，不用虚拟语气。不再举例说明。
